From Marla Ridenour of Ohio.com:
Browns quarterback Derek Anderson is headed to injured reserve after suffering a torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee Sunday against Indianapolis.
Tuesday’s MRI revealed the tear, but no surgery will be required. Anderson will wear a brace and is expected to recover in four to six weeks.
Anderson started Cleveland’s first eight games and went 3-5. He regained his job against the Colts after Brady Quinn was placed on IR with a fractured index finger on his throwing hand that also has tendon damage.
Tight end Kellen Winslow suffered a high sprain of his left ankle, an MRI indicated. He will wear a walking boot for up to a week and will miss Sunday’s game at Tennessee. Because the rate of healing may vary, the medical staff was not ready to declare Winslow out for the season.
