2014 NFL Draft moved to May 8-10

The NFL announced Tuesday that it is moving the 2014 draft to May 8--10 for next year.

The draft has traditionally been held on the final weekend of April each year, but is being moved due to a scheduling conflict at Radio City Music Hall. The moving of the draft is not expected to have much effect on teams' organized team activities and mini-camps, and there is no word on whether or not the change from April to May will be made permanent.

As for other dates set for the league year for 2014:

The NFL clubs also were informed that there would be no significant changes in the dates of other off-season events next year:

* Several Regional Combines will be held on various dates from Jan. 24 through Feb. 16, 2014. Some Regional Combines may be held after the National Combine in Indianapolis.

* The National Combine in Indianapolis will be held from Feb. 18-25, 2014.

* The new League Year, and the Free Agency period, will begin on March 11, 2014.

* The Annual Meeting will be held in Orlando, Florida, on March 23-26, 2014.
