The San Francisco 49ers added some veteran help to the secondary when they signed cornerback Darcel McBath to a one-year contract.

A second-round draft pick by the Denver Broncos in 2009, McBath played in 21 games for them, making one start. The Broncos released him at final cuts last summer and he was picked up by the Jacksonville Jaguars in December. The Jaguars cut him loose in April.

The 27-year-old McBath played with 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree at Texas Tech. He was an All-Big 12 pick as a senior in 2008. His position coach for his first two seasons in Denver was current 49ers defensive backs coach Ed Donatell.
