A successful season in San Francisco has created rewards.
49ers owner Jed York announced via his Twitter account that general manager Trent Baalke, after one season on the job, has had his contract extended through 2016. The 49ers had a remarkable season with a first-year GM and a first-year coach and now look positioned to compete at the top of the NFC West for years to come.
York also announced that Gideon Yu has been named Preisdent of the franchise. Yu had been the chief strategy officer.
