The San Francisco 49ers promoted cornerback Darryl Morris from the practice squad to the active roster. The 49ers signed defensive end D’Aundre Reed to the practice squad. Morris was originally signed by the 49ers on May 7 and was later released following training camp. He was signed to the team’s practice squad on Sept. 2. Morris played collegiately at Texas State, where he registered 223 tackles, five interceptions, 16.5 tackles for loss and 26 passes defensed during his Bobcats career. Reed was originally drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round (215th overall) of the 2011 NFL draft. He has appeared in six career games, primarily on special teams. Reed was released by the Vikings on Sept. 9. Reed played at the University of Arizona where he appeared in 47 games, registering 83 tackles and six sacks.
