Brandon Jacobs can keep mouthing off when it comes to the San Francisco 49ers.
But it’s not going to get him any playing time and it’s also not going to get him set free. Not before this season ends.
The 49ers have suspended the veteran running back for the final three regular-season games for conduct detrimental to the team. That means Jacobs will have to sit out the remainder of the season after being frustrated with a lack of playing time.
According to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee, Jacobs has hinted he tried to earn his release.
Last week, Jacobs took to social media sites to post photos of him playing for the New York Giants.
“I am on this team rotting away so why would I wanna put any pics up of anything that say niners,” Jacobs wrote on Instagram. “This is by far the worst year I ever had, I'll tell you like I told plenty others.”
He can keep saying it. But he isn’t going to play.
