Anything Tiki Barber can attempt, John Riggins can try as well.

The Hall of Fame running back has taken to his Twitter account and discussed a comeback. At age 63. The Super Bowl XVII MVP says he found out he doesn’t need to be reinstated like Barber, who remains under the control of the New York Giants for the time being, because he was a free agent when he walked away from the NFL after the 1985 season.

“Tidying up the papers from my agent,” Riggins tweeted. “Will get them to the league office ASAP. Hey, Tiki! Yo, Brett! Wait 'til they get a load of me!

“If Tiki busts a thousand, I'm going to have to come out @ 63! The only record I got in the NFL is for Seniors, the Geezer Grand.

“As Aaaanold said “I'll be bauck.”

It’s reminiscent of Jim Brown’s proposed return in 1983 after he had been away from the game for 17 years. Brown, then 47, wasn’t happy Franco Harris was coming up on his records and discussed a middle-aged comeback with the Los Angeles Raiders.

It’s fun to laugh about. It’s also good fodder for Riggins’ radio show.
