Minnesota Vikings right tackle Phil Loadholt has been fined $10,000 by the NFL for two plays in the team’s season-opening loss at New Orleans.
Loadholt was docked for a facemask penalty in the second quarter when he grabbed the facemask of Saints linebacker Marvin Mitchell, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Then, after sliding to left tackle in the fourth quarter to take the place of Bryant McKinnie, Loadholt was caught again for a facemask infraction. There was no penalty called but the league doesn’t need a yellow flag to go after a player for a violation.
