Former New England Patriots star tight end Aaron Hernandez was briefly hospitalized with an undisclosed medical issue, according to Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson.
Hodgson didn't disclose why Hernandez was transported to St. Luke's Hospital for roughly an hour before being returned to the Bristol County Jail, citing medical privacy laws.
Hernandez is in jail without bail after pleading not guilty to three murder charges.
Hernandez's lawyers have said that their client's safety is at risk and have requested a transfer.
