Says some guys didn't want to play in game Brad Biggs
Aaron Rodgers isn’t happy with his teammates.
No, he’s not upset with fellow players on the Green Bay Packers.
He is disappointed with those who were with him on the NFC Pro Bowl team. The AFC triumphed 59-41 on Sunday in the all-star game in Hawaii and in a game that’s known for players taking it easy, Rodgers believes some guys took it too easy. Way too easy.
“I was just surprised that some of the guys either didn't want to play or when they were in there didn't put any effort into it,” Rodgers said in a visit with ESPN Milwaukee and Jason Wilde this afternoon.
Rodgers went on to say he was “disappointed in the lack of pride” shown by some NFC players in the game.
His coach Mike McCarthy was certainly playing for keeps. The NFC executed a successful onside kick after the opening score of the game. Later, the NFC ran a successful fake punt. But there was plenty of dogging it and the linemen were clearly going through the motions, at least until parts of the fourth quarter.
It’s a little surprising to hear a player speak out about the game like this, but Rodgers has a point and it’s a good one. Fans were booing during portions of the game because of the lack of effort. If they’re going to put pads and helmets on and they’re going to play, then play football.
It's nice that Rodgers spoke up for the fans. If the NFL wants to play the game, it shouldn't be a mockery.

Just get rid of the Pro Bowl. Or make it a total flag game. As long as its in pads the potential for career ending injury exists.
You can name a Pro Bowl team but get rid of the game. This game is not baseball nor is it basketball. It's a violent game.
Oh please Rodgers - really?. What are you trying to do, save face for your dogcrap performance vs. the Giants? This guy gets way too much press. Eddie Haskell reincarnated.
The game shouldn't be before the Super Bowl and the ridiculous rules to prevent defensive play make a bigger mockery of the game than ever before. Rodgers is right. however, McCarthy had the option of putting Rodgers and Breese back in the game. Should have yanked Newton and played Rodgers and Breese on alternate posessions at least in Q4
Bear Market is right, get rid of it if you are not going to make it at least a representative football game. There have been some good contests in the distant past when they didn't put up a highschool basketball score
I agree with Bear Market. It's easy for Rodgers to complain. He's not being asked to get hit every play for a game that means nothing.
Maybe take the guys who make the Pro Bowl teams to a nice play like Hawaii, have some fun and give them some recognition and let it go at that.
I'm glad a player spoke up about the obvious. get rid of the game, honor the players in another way.
And before the superbowl? How many players did not participate anyway? Enough already.

The whole game is/was a sham. This is the first one that I watched in awhile - and I couldnt believe the lack of effort and the booing from the first play. The D lineman just stood up. Matthews interception and the bunch of stupid laterals was also idiocy. Some may have dogged it more than others but the whole game is bunch of fluff. The only allstar game that is worth watching is the worst sport - Baseball. NHL, NBA, NFL are all not worth the time - find it funny that the sponsors on not complaining too,
The pro bowl is a insult to the game.
Rodgers head sure has gotten huge the last year or so. He should quit ripping on pro bowlers in Hawaii, and start trying to hit his wide open receivers in playoff games at Lambeau.
So a guy who plays THE most protected position in the game is mad because other people who take hits constantly don't want to risk their career? Wake up Aaron and realize they have to play 4 or 5 years to make what you make in 1 year so longevity in their career is a big deal.
They should get rid of the Pro Bowl game and just hand out an award instead.
i will like to point out that i started watching the pro bowl with my son! after watching the first quarter i turned it off due to the lack of effort it was brutal to watch these guys (pro bowlers) going thru the motions like they were it was pittifull to say the least an disappointing for sure if they are all going to be like that whats the since in playing the pro bowl at all just let it be a recognition to the players efforts thru the year!
I agree that for the most part the Pro Bowl game for the last 3-4 years has just been a paid vacation for NFL players. No real effort or Conference Pride just like A-Rod said. At least he is man enough to speak out and tell it like it is, a farce of a game. Like most of the time, the rest of the NFL looks to Green Bay to measure themselves by! A KY Pack Fan.
How what Aaron saying what he did give him a big ego? He's still the same humble guy. Plus, he's correct. I haven't bothered to watch the game in about 5 years, it's pathetic. & yes, it's about time someone in the league has said something about it.. It's been a total rip off to the fans & it's why the ratings have been sinking.

Oh PLEASE rodgers, think about your own problems..like falling as home embarassed by the new york giants, you know? Who EVER cares about the pro bowl? It's like the all star game..total shit, defenses are non existent, as if we didn't have enough of non existent defenses during the regular season and playoffs..seriously rodgers. Pick something else, the pro bowl is just useless
