Restricted free agent has previously signed one-year tender Aaron Wilson
Cleveland Browns safety Abram Elam didn't get what he wanted this offseason: the security and money of a long-term contract.
Ultimately, he signed his second-round tender of $1.759 million.
Despite the contract dispute, there are no apparent lingering hurt feelings about the lack of an agreement.
And there aren't any plans to hold out of training camp after Elam was a no-show at voluntary and mandatory offseason practices.
"I signed my tender last Monday so I'll still be a Brown this season,'' Elam wrote on his personal website, per the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "There won’t be any hard feelings. I hope the fans understand that the NFL is a business and as a professional you have to understand the business part of the game.
"I’m happy to have a job and be able to play for one of the great football towns in Cleveland. I’m just excited to get back to work and hopefully I can help us turn things around and win some games for the greatest fans in the league."
It sounds like there's peace in Cleveland.
