Adrian Peterson says truth will surface

Adrian Peterson will have his initial court appearance on Friday in Houston after he was arrested in the wee hours Saturday morning and charged with resisting arrest.

An off-duty police officer, working security at a club, accused Peterson of shoving him and causing him to lose his balance after he asked Peterson and friends to leave following closing time. Then, police say it took three officers to subdue the Minnesota Vikings running back.

Peterson, of course, has a different version of events.

“A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Peterson also urged fans to wait to pass judgment, a fair request, “Thank you for waiting for the facts. Truth will surface.”

We’ll see what happens in Peterson’s case. The focus for him should be on his rehabilitation from reconstructive knee surgery. There is a good chance he will not be ready for the start of training camp.
