PIttsburgh Steelers quarterback Byron Leftwich tore his medial collateral ligament, according to Pro Players Solutions.

"Our thoughts and concerns are with PPS client Byron Leftwich who tore his MCL this evening," the agency posted on its Twitter account. "Bad luck for a classy guy.

Leftwich got hurt against the Carolina Panthers.

Afterward, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin told reporters that Leftwich sprained his knee and will undergo a magnetic resonance imaging exam.

If Leftwich is sidelined for an extended period, Dennis Dixon would start while Ben Roethlisberger serves his NFL suspension.

Uh oh. The pressure will be on the Commish to lessen the suspension. Don't do it. Make him pay and feel the wrath of his teammates as they struggle with Dixon.

Hey RavensInsider - Always a bummer when players get hurt (Reed for Ravens, Leonard for Bengals), but this injury to Leftwich helps both our teams since we both play the Steelers twice.
