Albert Elias, the man and agent behind Elias Sports Management, has died.
Former NFL safety Chris Harris, a client of Elias, confirmed the news that quickly spread through NFL circles.
Elias, from Dallas, focused on recruiting Louisiana and did well. He represented Michael Brockers, the first-round draft pick of the St. Louis Rams, this past year. Elias was well respected by NFL clubs. In a cutthroat business, he was even respected by competition. Elias negotiated a large contract for Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Kyle Williams before the start of the 2011 season.
“Sad to hear that a fellow sports agent, Albert Elias has passed away. Albert always had a smile on his face and was a good guy. #RIP,” wrote agent Mike McCartney on his Twitter account.
The National Football Post sends condolences to the family, friends and clients of Elias.
