OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- The Baltimore Ravens have claimed cornerback Bryan McCann off waivers from the Dallas Cowboys, according to his agent, John William Biggins.

McCann is known for his speed and returned punts for the Cowboys.

The Ravens are releasing undrafted rookie cornerback and punt returner Prince Miller, but he's expected to join the practice squad.

"It's a great opportunity," McCann said. "Bryan is ecstatic. When I talked to Ozzie Newsome today, he said they're very excited about adding Bryan to the roster. His footwork is as good as veterans.

"He has good footwork and speed. He has the potential to be a lockdown corner. He can be physical. He can come up in run support. He's a sure tackler and he's intelligent."
