Agent: Successful ACL surgery for Kiko Alonso

Buffalo Bills linebacker Kiko Alonso underwent successful surgery Thursday to repair his anterior cruciate ligament, according to his agent, Steve Caric.

The surgery was performed by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews.

A magnetic resonance imaging exam confirmed that Alonso tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee while training in Oregon during the offseason.

It's a significant loss to the Bills' defense.

Alonso had 159 tackles and four interceptions last season as one of the top rookies in the NFL.
