Agent hopes Browns don't rush to judgment on D-lineman

Kiante Tripp has a scheduled court appearance in 10 days but the agent for the Cleveland Browns defensive tackle believes burglary and firearm possession charges will be dropped before Tripp goes before the judge.

Tripp, 24, was arrested Sunday near Atlanta and is free after posting $15,000 bond on Wednesday. He appeared in three games as a reserve for the Browns last season and will have to compete to earn a roster spot provided the club doesn’t dump him.

“We haven’t spoken to the Browns at this point,” Tripp’s agent Michael Puterbaugh told Tom Reed of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “We just don’t want to see them take any negative action because we believe when this is all resolved it will be favorable for Kiante.”
