Ahmad Bradshaw set to return to starting role

New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw will return to the starting lineup a week after he sat out and Andre Brown ran wild on the Carolina Panthers in a victory last Thursday.

Bradshaw has been out since halftime of a Week 2 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a neck injury but he returned to practice today and coach Tom Coughlin said he will start on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger.

It’s not all bad news for Brown, who performed well and will remain in the mix.

“One year we had three guys. There’s a long, long way to go, and we’re just happy that we’ve got an opportunity to develop some players, and they will all have a chance to contribute,” Coughlin said.

Lost in the mix right now is rookie first-round draft pick David Wilson who performed well in preseason but has fumbled. The Giants have a package for Wilson but he will have to earn the favor of the coaching staff before he gets more regular use.
