At the beginning of his latest video diary entry for the National Football Post, Al Harris is standing outside the entrance to the Atlantic Rehabilitation Center in Miami. Inside, another stressful workout awaits him.
“Making a lot of progress,” Harris, the Packers cornerback, says of his continuing rehab on his left knee. “Still a lot of work to do. Still trying to get the functional movement.”
Then, a pointed message to his skeptics:
“I know there are some people out there who are doubting me, doubting that I can come back. But this week, this episode is dedicated to you….The proof is coming soon.”
Harris makes his point. His quickness, speed and jumping are markedly improved. He seems to satisfy even his toughest critic – himself.
He’s close. You can feel it.
