In Week 13, Packers cornerback Al Harris heads to Pompano Beach, Fla., to work with speed training specialist Tony Sands. The two have worked with each other for more than a decade, and as his rehab from a serious left knee injury continues, Harris looks to improve his speed and quickness.
“He’s a beast,” Sands says. “He loves his training. He trains harder than any corner in the game. When we come to work, we bring our ‘A’ game.”
A couple of days later, back at the Atlantic Rehabilitation Center in Miami, Harris again put through the rigors by trainer Joe Caraccio – “torture,” as Harris puts it.
But the pain is worth it.
“We’re at that last little bit,” Harris says while lying on the training table. “So here it is.”
