Alabama received a commitment from a former Florida pledge on Thursday, as outside linebacker Christian Miller announced that he intends to play for the Crimson Tide.
The 6-4, 212-pound Class of 2014 product from Spring Valley High School (Columbia, S.C.) is ranked as a four-star recruit by Rivals.com and is a South Carolina legacy, as father Corey played linebacker for the Gamecocks in the early 1990's. Miller, who chose Alabama over Georgia, also had offers from Clemson, Florida, Florida State, South Carolina and UCLA, among others.
The Palmetto State standout is considered one of the better outside 'backers in the country and one of the best players in the state of South Carolina for the 2014 class. He recorded 121 tackles (21 for loss), 14 sacks and four forced fumbles as a junior.
Alabama, which is still in the running for top Class of 2014 defensive ends Da’Shawn Hand and Lorenzo Carter, now has 16 pledges in the current cycle.
