Alabama continues to make a habit of bringing in high-quality defenders, as linebacker Shaun Dion Hamilton of Carver High School (Montgomery, AL) has committed to the football program.
The 6-1, 224-pound Class of 2014 product chose the Crimson Tide over offers from several high-profile programs, including Auburn, Tennessee, Florida State and USC.
The quick, run-stuffing defender is a consensus four-star prospect and a Top 15 inside linebacker nationally. He is on track to graduate in December and participate in spring practice for the Tide.
His final visit occured on The Plains, which led many to believe that the Tigers had the advantage. In addition, former teammate Jeremy Johnson signed with the program in February. Auburn is also less than 60 miles from Montgomery. But in the end, being able to play in a Saban defense swayed Hamilton.
Hamilton is the fourth commitment in Bama's 2014 class and the second high-profile player in the state. Five-star running back Bo Scarborough from Tuscaloosa is also committed to the Tide. Georgia natives Kalvaraz Bessent and Chris Wiliams are also in the class.
