San Francisco 49ers All-Pro outside linebacker Aldon Smith's playing time is expected to increase Sunday against New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

Smith got just a dozen snaps in his first game back after going to a treatment facility for alcohol issues.

Smith is slated for a bigger role Sunday.

"He’s ready this week to play a lot, and he will play a lot," 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said.
