Aldon Smith has had more than his share of off-field issues during his brief NFL career.
So, it was relieving when the San Francisco 49ers outside linebacker denied a report by an NBC reporter in Columbia, Mo., where Smith attended college at the University of Missouri, that he was “jumped” outside a restaurant.
Smith took to Twitter and wrote: “Want to clear up rumors of me getting jumped, I'm ok and doing well! Como! I missed you. Go Tigers!!"
Later, he added: “Didn't get jumped_ stop asking."
Police did respond to an incident an incident, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, but no report was filed. The 49ers, who are off for their bye week, also denied anything happened.
Smith suffered cuts this summer at a wild house party and in January he was picked up on DUI charges in Miami Beach.
