Alex Mack takes a visit to Jacksonville

The Jacksonville Jaguars need a lot of help if they're going to get out of the NFL's cellar.

Boosting their offensive line would be a start. It appears that's something the Jaguars are looking to do. According to a report from the Cleveland Plain Dealer, center Alex Mack visited Jacksonville on Friday.

Mack received the transition tag early this offseason and hasn't signed it. Therefore, teams that want to submit an offer sheet to him are able to do so, with the Browns having the right to match the offer. But if Mack leaves, the Browns receive nothing in return.

Jacksonville has already added guard Zane Beadles this offseason, and Mack would further strengthen the interior line.

The Jaguars have been busy all offseason, signing three defensive ends (Chris Clemons, Evander Hood and Jason Babin) and running back Toby Gerhart.

Much like the Chiefs were in 2013, the Jaguars appear to be making the kind of moves that would give them the potential to be the surprise team of 2014.
