Amaya out of jail, but not out of job

In August, Chad Johnson's arrest in a domestic issue got him released by the Miami Dolphins with HBO's "Hard Knocks" there to show the receiver's firing  for its viewers.

However, the arrest of safety Jonathon Amaya on a battery charge against a South Florida cab driver will not cause him to be unemployed. Amaya has returned to the Dolphins practice and is preparing for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots.

“There are always circumstances surrounding any incident,” Philbin said, per the Miami Herald. “The big thing we want to do is be fair any time we make a decision regarding a player in the program. That’s the overriding principle.”

Maybe it's because Amaya didn't have the same flamboyant reputation that the former "Chad Ochocinco" did. Who knows, but whatever the reason, Amaya's alleged transgression didn't cost him with Philbin in nearly the same way it did Johnson.
