Andre Ellington is expected to be a workhorse running back for the Cardinals this year.

However, his season may start a little later than expected. According to Phoenix radio station FOX Sports 910's Mike Jurecki, Ellington aggravated a foot injury and could miss "extended time" as a result. This is very concerning news for Arizona, which opens its season Monday night against San Diego.

Ellington has a versatile skill set as he's able to run between the tackles and catch passes out of the backfield. He's shifty in the open field and had a solid rookie campaign after dealing with numerous injuries in college at Clemson.

If Ellington is in fact unable to play Monday, the Cardinals will be expected to start Jonathan Dwyer in his place.
