Eagles running back seeking long-term deal Brad Biggs
Contract talks with Philadelphia Eagles running back are “heading in the right direction,” according to coach Andy Reid.
Last week, wide receiver DeSean Jackson said he would advise his teammate to participate in the offseason workout program and be on time for training camp. A contract negotiation last year affected Jackson’s season, and cost him time with the team.
“Well we’ve had him up here the whole time, so he’s been here working out,” Reid said during a visit on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia, according to sportsradiointerviews.com. “He and I have talked. I can’t share that with everybody, but I will tell you it is heading in the right direction. That’s all I can tell you.”
Reid also said he’s taking charge of these things even if he’s not doing the negotiating.
“I take charge of all the things that happen there,” Reid said. “DeSean’s was no different than LeSean’s will be, so as far as my hand on it? It’ll all work out. He knows we appreciate him and we are working through those negotiations and I think good things will happen.”
