There's a chance that Kansas City Chiefs plays Sunday's game against San Diego without its usual group of players.
With the Chiefs locked into the fifth-seed after losing to Indianapolis a day ago, coach Andy Reid told reporters he's considering benching his starters against the Chargers.
There's nothing for the Chiefs (11-4) to gain or lose on Sunday. All the teams battling for the final Wild Card spot are 8-7 and even with a Chiefs win and Broncos loss, Denver holds the tiebreaker for the division over the Chiefs.
So maybe it is in Kansas City's best interest to get some needed rest for its starters heading into the Wild Card round of the postseason.
