The Tampa Bay Buccaneers continue to encounter road blocks in an effort to construct Greg Schiano’s coaching staff.

The Green Bay Packers have denied the Bucs permission to interview tight ends coach Ben McAdoo for an opportunity to become the offensive coordinator in Tampa, according to Jason La Canfora of NFL Network.

The decision by the Packers is consistent with what the team did when the Miami Dolphins also inquired about McAdoo as an offensive coordinator candidate on Joe Philbin’s staff.

This isn’t the first time the Bucs have been shot down. They also were denied in efforts to meet with Arizona Cardinals wide receivers coach John McNulty about the job. University of Florida defensive coordinator Dan Quinn has also turned down the Bucs. He was reportedly offered the defensive coordinator position on Schiano’s staff.

As we pointed out Monday, it is increasingly difficult for the last NFL team to hire a head coach in any given offseason to hire NFL assistants from other teams because it’s often too late in the process.

If Packer tradition follows form, McAdoo may get QB coach duties and be heir apparent if Clements gets a HC position following this season
