Last week, the Kansas City Chiefs lost in a blowout to an also-ran turned upstart, and lost their best defensive player in the process when Eric Berry tore his ACL.
<p> On Sunday, the Chiefs lost badly to another upstart – 48-3 to the Lions – and lost their best offensive player when running back Jamaal Charles tore his ACL in the game.
Sources told NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora that Charles had suffered the torn ACL. The Chiefs are expected to do tests Monday for an official diagnosis.
In addition, Kansas City lost productive tight end Tony Moeaki to an ACL injury at the end of preseason.
A year after the Chiefs were the upstart team that made a playoff run, it is looking like they are headed back to the bottom of the heap with back-to-back blowout losses and three devastating knee injuries.
If you had the Chiefs in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes, they are starting to look like a viable contender.
