Anquan Boldin thinks the NFL has made a few strides regarding player safety.
At the same time there's one glaring contradiction. The fact that the NFL has decided that every team will play at least one Thursday night game is something that bothers the veteran receiver, who is in his first year with the 49ers.
"[T]here are some things that just don't make sense to me," Boldin told the San Jose Mercury News. "I mean if you're so concerned about player safety then why do you have every team in the league playing on Thursday night when they just competed on a Sunday, knowing how difficult it is for guys to get back to being healthy after playing on Sunday? Guys really don't feel like they're back till probably Thursday or Friday to prepare for that next week."
Unfortunately for Boldin, those Thursday night games have become a cash cow for the NFL. Therefore, don't expect them to go away any time soon.
