Colts tackle wants to launch a foundation Aaron Wilson
Indianapolis Colts offensive tackle Anthony Castonzo has seen enough friends and family impacted by cancer to determine his off-field goals.
The first-round draft pick's grandfather died of lung cancer and Boston College teammate Mark Herzlich, who has overcome bone cancer.
"I have a pure hatred of the disease," Castonzo told the Indianapolis Star. "I've been blessed with so many opportunities and I've been able to capitalize on them. I feel like everybody deserves the opportunities I've been given and this disease just strips people of them."
A biochemistry student at Boston College who graduated with a 3.5 grade point average, Castonzo wants to eventually start a foundation for cancer research.
"Right now, Anthony lives, sleeps and breathes football," Herzlich said. "I think the first couple of years, he's going to be worried about protecting Peyton and getting a Super Bowl ring. I know once he's established, he'll be very active in his charity foundation stuff."
