The Green Bay Packers are typically very shrewd when it comes to free agency.
Ted Thompson doesn’t dabble in it very often.
But the Packers are starting to find some veterans they like. Center Jeff Saturday has joined the mix and now defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove hints he will soon be in the fold.
“Not official but like i said green and yellow green yellow,” Hargrove wrote on his Twitter account, according to Aaron Wilson of Scout.com. “Can't wait for my first Lambeau Leap on game day. Not yet but we screaming green and yellow green and yellow go packers go.”
Hargrove would be joining his third franchise in as many years. He played for the Seattle Seahawks last season and made three sacks. Hargrove won a Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints in 2010. Hargrove would provide veteran depth for the Packers. Green Bay will be without defensive tackle Mike Neal for the first four games of the season as he was suspended for violating the NFL’s policy on anabolic steroids and related substances.
