It looked mighty scary.
New York Giants safety Antrel Rolle tumbled out of bounds late in the fourth quarter of the New York Giants’ victory over the Carolina Panthers. He was defending a fade pattern in the corner of the end zone.
Rolle jumped to try and avoid an individual holding a television camera on the ground. But he couldn’t get over them as his left knee went into the camera. Rolle was on the ground in pain and medical personnel quickly responded to him, and he needed assistance getting back to the bench.
“It will be all right,’’ Rolle said, according to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post. “I was trying to jump over the camera, I don’t know, I guess I wasn’t as successful as I wanted to be. Just a cut and bruise on top of the knee cap.’’
X-rays of the knee were negative and Rolle did not require stitches for the cut.
