In case you were hoping to get a look at how Arian Foster and Andre Johnson fit into Houston's new offense on Saturday, think again.
Texans coach Bill O'Brien told reporters that both Foster and Johnson will sit out the team's preseason opener against the Cardinals. Foster is dealing with an undisclosed injury and Johnson tweaked his hamstring earlier in training camp.
Of course, the preseason is not the time to play a team's starters if they aren't 100 percent. While a lot of players are in need of game reps, players that have been there and done that don't fit into that category. For Foster and Johnson, rest at this stage is more important than playing a series or two this Saturday.
Neither player has anything that could be considered serious, so they should be ready for the season opener in September.
