Auburn's Tre Mason declares for NFL draft

Auburn running back Tre Mason will forgo his senior season and enter the NFL draft, the school announced on Thursday.

Mason had a standout season as Auburn's running back, picking up 1,816 yards and 23 touchdowns. He ran for 195 yards and scored a touchdown with just over a minute left in the BCS Championship, wihch Auburn would wind up losing 34-31 to Florida State.

Mason could wind up a first-round draft pick as one of the upcoming draft's top running backs.

He averaged 5.7 yards per attempt in 2013.
