The San Francisco 49ers are signing a pair of veteran wide receivers, adding former Indianapolis Colts starter Austin Collie and former Tennessee Titans starter Lavelle Hawkins.
Collie has recently worked out for the New England Patriots, New York Jets and the 49ers.
Collie has a history of health issues, including several concussions and a ruptured patellar tendon.
He's a highly-skilled possession receiver who caught 172 passes for 16 touchdowns during a three-year span for the Colts.
The 49ers also auditioned Laurent Robinson.
Hawkins was cut by the New England Patriots this week. .
Two seasons ago, Hawkins caught 47 passes for 470 yards and one touchdown.
For his career, he has 71 receptions for 771 yards and one touchdown.
