The St. Louis Rams and the Dallas Cowboys have exchanged a pair of disappointing former first-round draft picks, finalizing a trade where the Cowboys sent linebacker Bobby Carpenter to St. Louis in exchange for offensive tackle Alex Barron, according to ESPN Dallas.
A former Ohio State player, Carpenter is expected to fit in better in the Rams' 4-3 scheme than he did in Dallas' 3-4 set.
Barron started 74 games, but hasn't met expectations.
He led the league last season with five holding penalties.
Barron is expected to compete with Doug Free for the left tackle job.

Bobby Carpenter was a great player at OSU playing primarily in the 4-3. I think that he will see a great improve in stats. Plus, he'll be playing with Laurinaitis again. Good things should come from that

This is about as fair a trade as you'll find.
I think Carpenter will finally do something in St Louis. He's been a good kid in Dallas. Never lived up to his billing but that happens with first rounders sometimes.
I heard that Alex Barron was flagged for 2 false starts and 1 holding call just getting through airport security in St Louis. Great . . .
