Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin left open the possibilty of Ben Roethlisberger playing this week against the Baltimore Ravens, but it doesn't sound as if the door if opened more than just a small crack.
Tomlin said the Steelers are working on a plan that centers around Charlie Batch at quarterback, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Batch started last week against Cleveland and was awful, throwing three interceptions as the Steelers turned the ball over eight times in losing to the Browns.
As for Roethlisberger, the Steelers have to make sure of two things before sending him back out to play. One is his safety, as the rib injury he suffered in conjunction with the shoulder injury, had some very dangerous implications, and the other of course, is how effective he can be with the injury to his throwing shoulder.
