Bears cut Derrick Martin, claim Michael Ola

The Chicago Bears were awarded offensive tackle Michael Ola off waivers from the Miami Dolphins.

Ola played for the Montreal Alouettes where he was coached by Bears coach Marc Trestman for one seaosn.

Ola was cut by the Dolphins on Tuesday.

The Bears created a roster spot by cutting veteran safety Derrick Martin with a non-football injury designation.

Martin broke his collarbone recently in a car accident.

He recorded seven tackles last season in seven games, primarily playing on special teams.

Martin has previous stints with the New England Patriots, New York Giants, Green Bay Packers and the Baltimore Ravens.
