Team added Marcus Buggs to similar role last week Brad Biggs
The Chicago Bears will announce today that linebacker J.D. Folsom has been released from the practice squad.
The team informed him of the decision on Wednesay. Folsom first joined the Bears before Week 1. He was the only player to be signed to the practice squad that wasn’t with the team during training camp.
Folsom spent last season with the Miami Dolphins, getting a little time on the 53-man roster while spending the bulk of the season on the practice squad. He’s considered a solid special teams contributor.
The Bears added another linebacker to their practice squad last week when Marcus Buggs was signed.
UPDATED: Wide receiver Greg Mathews is expected to be signed to take the place of Folsom. He was on the Bears' practice squad during Week 1.
