The Chicago Bears have added some potential help on special teams as linebacker Brian Iwuh was signed to a one-year contract.
Iwuh competed over the weekend in the team’s three-day minicamp and has experience as a four teams contributor in Jacksonville. He spent the last four seasons with the Jaguars, playing in 58 games.
The Bears have plenty of depth at linebacker but they traded veteran Jamar Williams to Carolina in the Chris Harris deal. He was a core special teams player and Iwuh will have the opportunity to fill the role he had on the roster.
Iwuh beat out Kelvin Smith, formerly of the Panthers and Dolphins, as the veteran was also in on a tryout basis.
