The Chicago Bears are following the path of many teams as they are going to hold starting quarterback Jay Cutler out of Thursday’s preseason finale at Cleveland.
We wrote earlier today how Todd Collins is expected to receive a big workload against the Browns. That workload will begin at the start of the game. Collins needs to be evaluated as the Bears determine what to do with their backup quarterback position.
Cutler only started last season’s preseason finale in name. The Bears were playing at Soldier Field and in front of the home crowd, Cutler “started.” His duty that night was to hand the ball off six times to running back Kevin Jones. Cutler didn’t throw a pass.
He won’t throw one Thursday night either.
