Patriots coach says TE had no setbacks with ankle. Terry McCormick
New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick said Friday that injured tight end Rob Gronkowski had no setbacks in his left ankle after going through a limited portion of Thursday's practice.
Belichick said, via NFL.com, that Gronkowski's high left ankle sprain, continues to get treatment and that the ankle is "coming along."
“I think he was OK. I don’t think we had any setbacks, and we’ll see how it goes out there today, but … Rob’s worked extremely hard,” Belichick said. “He’s gotten treatment morning, noon and night, and he’s gotten better on a daily basis. Hopefully we’ll be able to continue that same progress today, tomorrow and all day Sunday, and then we’ll see where that takes us. But I think he’s coming along.”
Thursday's practice was the first for Gronkowski since he suffered the injury in the AFC Championship Game against Baltimore nearly two weeks ago.
