The Cincinnati Bengals defense hasn't exactly been stellar in the first two weeks of the season, giving up 71 points to the Ravens and Browns.

But the Bengals may be about to get a nice boost with the return to practice of defensive end Carlos Dunlap from a sprained knee, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Dunlap, who has 14 sacks in 24 careeer games, appears on track to play Sunday when the Bengals face the Washington Redskins. That's good news also because the Bengals placed defensive end Jamaal Anderson on injured reserve with a quadriceps tendon tear, and defensive end Robert Geathers was limited on Wednesday with a groin injury. The team signed defensive end Wallace Gilberry to the active roster to help.

Also, running back Bernard Scott was back at practice for the first time in the regular season after suffering a broken hand.
