Free-agent pickup suffered shoulder injury on Thursday. Terry McCormick
Bo Scaife spent the 2009 season wearing the franchise tag in Tennessee and then getting a 10 percent raise over that in 2010, giving him a total of about $9 million in salary combined.
Then, when Scaife set sail in free agency, he didn't find anywhere near that type of money on the open market, and settled for a one-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Now, Scaife may be spending that one year on injured reserve after suffering a shoulder injury on Thursday, according to the Bengals website.
If Scaife is lost for the season, it's an unfortunate break for a guy who waited for his chance in free agency only to find disappointment in the market and now for his season.
