The Cincinnati Bengals have signed fifth-round rookie offensive guard Otis Hudson to a four-year contract.

Terms weren't disclosed, but it's believed the deal has a total base value of $1.975 million.

That includes a signing bonus of $185,000.

The maximum value of the contract can be boosted signficantly if a fourth-year escalator clause is triggered.

"Otis is very excited about it, he couldn't be happier," Hudson's agent, Vinnie Porter, told the National Football Post. "The Bengals were very good to us. They weren't intense negotiations. Otis is looking forward to proving himself on the field."

The 6-foot-5, 320-pounder from Eastern Illinois was drafted 152nd overall.

The University of Minnesota transfer started 21 games over the past two seasons at Eastern Illinois.

“Otis needs work to polish his technique, but he’s a big, explosive man with NFL physical ability,” Bengals offensive line coach Paul Alexander said in a statement. “He’s a player we can work with and develop.”
