The Cincinnati Bengals signed quarterback Greg McElroy to a reserve-future deal.
McElroy was on the Bengals' practice squad this season.
McElroy is a former Alabama player who has played in two regular-season games.
In 2012 with the New York Jets, McElroy completed 19 of 31 passes for 214 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He was with the Jets before being cut following the preseason.
The Bengals went with two quarterbacks on the active roster: Andy Dalton and backup Josh Johnson.
The Bengals also have Zac Robinson under contract for next year.
