Bengals to decide on training camp site by Friday

If the Cincinnati Bengals are going to conduct their training camp this year in Kentucky at Georgetown College, they'll apparently make up their minds by Friday.

According to the Associated Press, that's when a decision will be made on whether the Bengals come back to Georgetown for the 15th consecutive year.

Georgetown athletic director Brian Evans indicated that the college is awaiting word by Friday.

“We talk fairly regularly,” Evans told the AP. “We’re hoping to hear something by Friday to make a decision about training camp, a mutual decision at that point.”

If the Bengals want to, they could conduct their training camp at Paul Brown Stadium.

The college says it has made preparations.

“We went on and prepared as though they’re coming, so we could mobilize pretty quickly,” Evans said. “We’re just getting prepared. We’ll make the adjustments we need to make when we get the word.”

As it has already for several NFL teams, the lockout could cause the tradition of going away for camp to be interrupted this year if the labor deal isn't worked out soon.
